Hope of Glory
Salvation and faith in Jesus Christ is a necessary first step towards regaining our rightful place in the family of God. We've been endowed with a life giving spirit and the right to fellowship with the Lord God. So it was in the beginning with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They were blessed with a close relationship to God and given a stewardship in the creation on earth. This was a glorious time as the angels witnessed God's wonderful creation.
Adam and Eve were asked to keep one reverence to the Lord. And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat of any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die" (Genesis 2:16-17). Consequently, Adam and Eve were to leave the Garden of Eden in mere humanity as a result of their disobedience.
In the wisdom and grace of God, mankind is given a second opportunity to return to our original estate (the hope of glory). This plan, given in the fullness of time, is the redemption and salvation in Jesus Christ. He's taken upon himself the disobedience and sin of Adam and Eve and has brought new life to us by His sacrifice at Calvary (whereby justice and mercy was served on the cross). This is a true testimony of God's love in that he gave his only begotten son for everyone who'd believe the gospel.
Salvation is given freely to everyone who'd believe in Jesus Christ. The statement of faith by your prayer for salvation and confession of sin will open the way in the grace of God. This will give you a joy in the spirit known as the born-again experience.
And for us today !!!
- First, God's presence is always timely. In periods of crisis, when His people are in jeopardy needing special help or guidance, God assures them of His presence.
- Second, God's presence is always consistent. His promise is that He will never leave or forsake His people. His presence never fails.
- Third, God‘s presence is always comforting. It eliminates fear and anxiety in the crisis times and generates contentment in all the circumstances of life.
